MoU signed between SRH University of Berlin and Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, Kanjirappally



                                                                                               

Amal Jyothi College of Engineering has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SRH University, Berlin, Germany for a Student Exchange Programme, creating a new turning point in the field of technical education in Kerala. The MoU aims to mould a world-class student community in higher education, equip them to secure jobs in premium companies, train students to excel in entrepreneurship and develop products that will enable them to compete in the global market.

The first phase of the proposed initiative will be a short-term student exchange programme between both the institutes. An initial batch of 20 students from Amal Jyothi College will be trained in collaboration with various multinational companies and international educational institutions at Germany. A team of 20 teachers and students from Berlin SRH University will be visiting Amal Jyothi with the objective of mechanizing the agricultural sector in Kerala, financing entrepreneurship, ensuring an international market for innovative products manufactured in the Startup Valley Technology Business Incubator and enabling German entrepreneurs to start projects in India. Understanding the uniqueness of the state of Kerala, the Germans envision a vast program in collaboration with various agricultural organizations, small scale industries, non-governmental organizations and various government departments. The MoU will provide opportunities for Amal Jyothi students for higher education, research and employment in Germany. Negotiations are underway for similar collaboration with reputed academic and research institutions in Europe. 

Bishop of the Diocese of Kanjirappally, His Excellency Mar Jose Pulikkal, Manager Fr. Dr. Mathew Paikatt, Principal Dr. Z V Lakaparambil, Bursar Fr. Benny Kodimarathummoottil, Registrar Prof. Tomy Joseph and the Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering (Automobile), Prof. Sherin Sam Jose were present at the signing ceremony. Prof. Michael Hardman, Prof. Rainer Kretsberg, Prof. Sigirid Puker, Prof. Klose Schweiz and Mr. Jishnu Jyotish (Alumnus Department of Mechanical Engineering (Automobile)) represented SRH University.
